Juniper berries

Juniper Berries are the basic and fundamental botany for the production of gin, juniper grappa, juniper and Kranewitter (traditional South Tyrolean product). They have a typically sweet and sugary yet fresh flavor and a soft texture. Finally, an essential oil called juniper essence is extracted from the Juniper Berries by distillation. The distillation residue treated with water and concentrated under vacuum produces a syrupy liquid called juniper extract.
