Passion, expertise and a lot of experimentation continually raise the bar of quality.
Bembo has created a line of Gin & Tonic Botanicals suitable for the most demanding enthusiasts who wish to amaze their guests with unusual combinations.
Inside the box, the 6 basic botanicals to combine as you wish to flavor your Gin & Tonics:
- Juniper Berries
- Ginger Rhizome
- Cinnamon Sticks
- Pink Peppercorns
- Orange Peel
- Hibiscus Flowers
How to Use:
1) Choose your favorite gin and check which botanicals it contains;
2) Select the ones you want to enhance;
3) Crush the botanicals you have chosen using, for example, a marble mortar;
4) Pour the crushed botanicals into a glass;
5) Add the selected Gin;
6) Wait 15/20 minutes;
7) Strain the contents into a cocktail glass, which already contains ice;
8) Add the appropriate tonic water;
9) Garnish with decorative elements that recall the flavors and aromas of the cocktail.
Here are some valuable tips:
To correctly dose the spices and aromas to add to your Gin & Tonic, practice and experimentation are necessary. In fact, the balance of flavors is only achieved after trying different techniques and mastering the exact doses.
Alcohol accentuates the scent and flavor of spices, and it is advisable to be very proficient in handling these aromas. Spices tend to mask other flavors, so it is prudent to start with small doses.
Equip yourself with the right tools to crush them (the Bembo marble bowl mortar is ideal) and give great importance to maceration, the moment when all the flavor is released.
The Spice Pantry
Store Bembo spice jars in a cool, dry place, preferably in the dark.
Use them for your Gin & Tonics but also for other cocktails or in the kitchen to flavor your dishes. This is the only way you can familiarize yourself with the scents and flavors that will characterize your preparations. You can select and choose your favorites, always maintaining the freshness of your supply.
