Australian Murray River salt is characterized by a particular white color with apricot pink reflections which depends on the carotene of some algae that live in these waters. This salt is collected in the Murray basin, Australia's largest river, selecting the purest batches. These salt flakes are obtained by introducing saline water from the Murray River basin into crystallization ponds followed by natural evaporation.
