Kala Namak Purple Indian Salt (also called Sanchal) is a low-sodium fossilized food salt native to Central India. Its appearance and color are distinctive: very soft and almost fluffy in texture, its hues range from deep pink to purple to dark gray. With a soft, velvety texture, almost impalpable, this salt is characterized by its very fine grains and a decidedly distinctive aroma. It's reminiscent of egg whites due to its sulfur content, which, however, dissipates significantly during cooking.
In the Kitchen : Kala Namak Salt is a rock salt widely used in Indian cuisine and is particularly suitable for ethnic recipes, but also in stir-fries, soups, and even fruit salads, especially those made with tropical fruit. It's a unique aperitif when served with fresh ginger root.
