Cinnamon Cookies

Ingredients for approximately 25 cinnamon biscuits

  • 250 g of 00 flour
  • 100 g of granulated sugar
  • 100 g of butter at room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar to decorate

How to make cinnamon biscuits

  1. In a large bowl, sift the flour together with the baking powder and ground cinnamon.
  2. In another bowl, work the butter at room temperature with the sugar until you obtain a creamy mixture.
  3. Add the egg to the butter and sugar mixture and mix well until fully incorporated.
  4. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients (flour, baking powder and cinnamon) into the butter, sugar and egg mixture.
  5. Mix until you obtain a homogeneous mixture. Add a pinch of salt.
  6. Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. This step is essential to obtain biscuits with the perfect consistency.
  7. Preheat the oven to 180°C.
  8. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface until it is about 5 mm thick.
  9. Use cookie cutters to cut out the desired shapes.
  10. Arrange the biscuits on a baking tray lined with baking paper, leaving a little space between each one.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the edges of the biscuits are lightly golden.
  12. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  13. If desired, dust with icing sugar before serving.
