Cubeba Pepper

Cubeba Pepper (Piper Cubeba), originally from the island of Java in Indonesia, was discovered by John Parkinson on one of his travels around the mid-1600s. Very similar in shape to Tellicherry Black Pepper, it differs in the characteristic of having a small stalk at the end of the berry. Ideal for those who love a light pepper but with a strong aromatic flavour.

In the Kitchen : It is a sweetish pepper with flavor nuances that tend towards Cardamom and Clove and the aftertaste has a minty flavour. This pepper has a pungent and slightly bitter flavor that makes it suitable for exotic dishes that require a distinctive touch of spice. It is used in sauces, stews and marinades, and pairs well with meat or vegetable dishes.
